Several major airlines offer daily, direct flights from hub cities in the United States, Central and South America and Europe. Other carriers connect to Costa Rica through these hubs. Most flights land in the Central Valley at one of the two terminals of the Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO), near San José.
A second international airport, Daniel Oduber, recently opened in the northwest province of Guanacaste, just outside the provincial capital of Liberia.
